The Long Island Library Conference is pleased to announce
The 2008 Keynote Speaker - Ellen Meister

Ellen Meister grew up in the PTA-enriched heartland of suburban Long Island. After graduating from the State University of New York at Buffalo with an honors degree in English, she spent several years as an advertising copywriter, eventually opening her own boutique sales promotion agency. She left the business world behind to raise her family, and began her fiction-writing career after the birth of her third child. Her early efforts resulted in publication of numerous short stories in literary journals. Secret Confessions Of The Applewood PTA (Morrow/Avon) is her first novel. Her second novel, The Smart One, will be published by Avon in August 2008. Meister lives on Long Island with her husband and three children.

Possible Speaker?

What about Michael Stephens? If you check out his blog he's been at several conferences along the east coast, even though he's Indiana based. I think he was at Computers In Libraries last spring, too. He wrote a great article in the OCLC newsletter called "Into a new world of librarianship: Sharpen these skills for Librarian 2.0 ." I'm a big fan. :-)
